  1. 12) The end of the story symbolizes karma because Bruno's father was killing Jew's in the war and then at the end of the movie his son Bruno gets gassed, which was ironic in the way that he died from the same way all the Jews died even though he was German, and once he figures out his son dies it makes him finally realize why he shouldn't of bin a part of this. It also symbolizes suffering and pain for the loss of a loved ones his parents by Ralf and Elsa. The mother wasnt apart of the Nazis and didnt agree with what her husband was doing. If they never would have moved, there then Bruno would have never died------(Cody, Bryce , Carlos)

  2. 9) When Bruno began to notice the inhumane treatment of the Jews, he was very curious so he asked his parents about the "farm". When he assumed that his parents didn't tell him the truth, he turned to his sister and was told that Jews were evil and they were the reason why Germany lost the Great War.

  3. 6. It is a symbol for the confliction between the Germans and the Jewish population as an entirety. The fence is an object that holds a physical boundary between the two boys which they are both equally confused about, regardless they still manage to become friends without the true knowledge of their parents disagreements

    1. i really like your answer due to the fact it is something i would have said and i totally agree that the barbed wire fence represented the separation of the Jews and Germans showing the viewers that the jews were like criminals and monsters even though they were completely innocent and the Germans were actually the evil ones-----Cody, Bryce , Carlos

  4. 10) Elsa has a strong moral compass, and any hate for for jews was destroyed when Pavel helped Bruno after he fell off the swing. Ralf's view is from the what he learned from propaganda, and the nazi government. Elsa questions her husbands decisions, and disagrees with what her children are being taught.

  5. 8.
Bruno's father has two sides, one that shows how loving he is and one that shows his ability as a Nazi officer to treat people inhumanely. Bruno's father is just doing his job by following his orders. He wants to keep his job and liked the fact that he was getting a promotion even though it meant moving his family and killing mass amounts of people. Bruno’s father shows even though his job causes him to be mean he doesn’t show that side to his children. He treats his children and wife as a loving husband and father. He later decides that it is the best for his family to move away and not be a part of his work.
